NEWS : 29TH APRIL 2012 01:11
Hi all! Our art show had a good response today and we got to meet many different types of people. Lots of people came to find out more about Autism which is always a great thing! and we also had long term supports of the cause too.
We had fabulous support from the Centrespace Gallery committee and Howard our guardian angel! A massive Thank you to Louise Lalonde one of our artists and all round helper. To my husband Jim and eldest son James who support my efforts and didn't hate me when I got a little stressed :0)
I would also like to thank all the artists who donated a piece of art, it's so appreciated and means the world to us.
Sadly though we had a poor turn out this evening, we did use social media, Whats on Pages (approx 10-15), 2,000 leaflets, Posters, Formal invites but this didn't seem to do the trick.
We did however have some reserve bids from the day time for certain pieces, for those of you wondering the pieces left over will be auctioned off via a online auctioning website. As the have all been donated 100% to us and our fundraising we are able to do this.
It also gives us a great chance to advertise to other areas in the UK, IRE & Worldwide.
Totals Mini total is £854.80
It was experience and I have now learned a lot about starting a art show. The other pieces will be listed here too. Many THanks Debbie Cogan - Organiser
We appreciate all your support!
We have an excellent list of Artists:
We'd like to welcome Feature Photographer John Brooks! http://www.johnbrooksphotography.co.uk/ for more info
Also our Feature Artist for the show Mark Sheeky! http://www.marksheeky.co.uk/
Both feature artists will be donating once piece to the show and their other pieces will also raise funds by donating a % of their selling price to the charity.

My son James has Aspergers a complex part of the Autism Spectrum, there are hundreds of children in Bristol that have this diagnosis and that depend on the Bristol Autism Project for fun and freedom in their childhood. It also provides a helpline of other parents and professionals to talk to.
Children can take part in school holiday activities and trips but funding has been shortened and we are looking to find more funds to support Sensory soft play for all the children. Currently our aim is to raise as much as possible to provide a few sessions through the year.
Sensory play is very important for ASD children, they don't often get to got to soft play areas a busy times due to the sheer amount of other children, they often hate people touching and banging into them and hate lots of noise. Finding the funds to play for private sessions if possible will be great for them!
So can you help? We are arranging a Art Show & Auction in the Spring, please see our LINKS page for donation details. If you are an artist and would like to donate a piece please use our contact form.
You can also donate money if you would like by
firstname.lastname@example.org ref B.A.P
or by sending a cheque made payable to DEBORAH COGAN - Bristol Autism Project and sending to 8 Glendare Street BRISTOL BS5 9SG.
